🚶 Observer Route 002 — Limestone Cliffs Trail
Observer Route 002 begins near Hogan's Fountain and follows a shaded woodland trail toward the Limestone Cliffs area of Cherokee Park before ending behind Frisbee Field.
This is not a complete loop. After reaching the end of the route, the walk returns the same way back toward Hogan's Fountain. The distance is short, but the return trip climbs uphill along a natural pathway, which can feel surprisingly difficult on a hot day.

Observer Route 002 covers approximately 0.73 miles and travels through mature forest, exposed tree roots, creekside views, and one of Cherokee Park's sensitive limestone habitats. The route is shaded most of the way, which helps during warmer weather, but the uphill return can still make this short route feel more challenging than expected.

Observer Route 002 feels more like a woodland hike than a park loop. Starting near Hogan's Fountain, the trail moves into the forest and follows the hillside down toward Beargrass Creek before eventually reaching the area behind Frisbee Field.
The route includes quiet forest sections, creek views, exposed roots, limestone features, and a few peaceful openings where the park briefly widens again. The walk back is the part to be ready for: it follows the same route uphill, and on a hot day that climb can be rough. Thankfully, most of the route stays under heavy shade.
